Individual Workers
How can I prepare before my first day?
Learn the fundamentals, terminology and expectations before you step onto the jobsite.
Day Zero Ready · The Jobsite Readiness Standard
Day Zero Ready prepares new construction workers with practical knowledge, expectations and jobsite fundamentals before their first day in the field.
Day One starts at Day Zero.
The Gap
New workers often step onto a jobsite without ever being formally taught the basics the crew already assumes they know.
The problem isn’t unwilling workers. It’s an information and preparation gap. Experienced workers and supervisors end up teaching basic expectations while trying to keep production moving.
Day Zero Ready begins that preparation earlier.
How It Works
Understand practical jobsite fundamentals — terminology, measurements, sequencing and expectations.
Complete Missions and demonstrate understanding with quick checks and applied tasks.
Enter the field with a stronger foundation for real-world training and hands-on work.
DZR doesn’t replace hands-on training. It prepares workers to get more from it.
Now preparing for launch
The first specialization under the broader Day Zero Ready Jobsite Readiness Standard combines foundational jobsite readiness with concrete-focused situations and fundamentals. Modules are built from practical, concise Missions.
The current targeted course length is approximately 2.5–3 hours.

The Field Guide
The Concrete Flatwork Edition is a standalone quick-reference product that supports the same readiness mission.
The Standard
DZR is a scalable construction workforce-readiness standard. The Concrete Flatwork Track is its first specialization, with an architecture that can support future tracks. It does not replace apprenticeship programs, unions, trade schools, employers, OSHA training or hands-on experience. It prepares people to get more out of all of them.
Whether you are starting in construction or hiring people who are, Day Zero Ready builds the foundation before production starts.
